JAMESTOWN – The Blue Jay girls hockey team remains winless at home after red hot Minot skated away with a 3-2 win in a Saturday matinee at Wilson Arena.
After starting the season with five consecutive losses, Minot has ripped off six consecutive wins.
The two teams combined to score five power play goals including the game winner by senior Sydnee Bartsch with 4:18 remaining. Bartsch found the back of the net twice, scoring her third and fourth goals of the season.
Jays junior Brooke Dietrich scored her first of the season in period two to tie the game at one. The assist went to 8th grader Maci Fisher, her first career varsity point.
Senior Ellie Krueger wristed in the go ahead goal seven seconds into period three to give Jamestown a 2-1 lead.
Standout Minot senior Brynn Hanson tied the game with her 16th goal of the season at the 5:53 mark of the third period.
The Majettes outshot Jamestown 34-27, with Blue Jay freshman goalie Ady Bakalar stopping 31 shots.
The Jays slip to 2-8 and next will host Bismarck Century on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Wilson Arena.
