FERGUS FALLS, MN – Both Jamestown Blue Jay wrestling teams had fourth-place finishes Saturday at the first Fergus Falls Invitational at Roosevelt Park High School.
Jamestown’s girls scored 19 points overall. Bree Bushard was runner-up at 148 pounds. Third-place finishes were by Matia Krapp (130), Ellie Guerra (148) and Isabella Castro (235). Harper Wolff (118) and Greta Olson (235) finished fourth. Malia Robinson was fifth at 235 pounds.
The Blue Jay boys scored 66 points, with 152-pound wrestler Lucas Schlepuetz taking that individual title. Schlepuetz won three matches with two pins and a major decision. Jamestown had runner-up finishes from Cole Anderson (107) and Jaxsen Morris (189). Finshing fourth were Keagan Margos (121), Riley Schlafman (145), Mack Allmaras (160) and Eonn Guerra (172). David Carrizales (114) and Heath Heupel (121) placed fifth.
Both Blue Jay teams will wrestle at home Thursday, with the girls hosting Williston and the boys facing St. Mary’s, starting at around 6:30 at Jerry Meyer Arena.
