Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes began 2025 with a dominant performance against the Napoleon-GS Imperials winning 76-45.

The game started solidly for the Tornadoes as they’d shoot 9/17 from the field to take a 19-7 lead after turning over the Imperials a bunch. Beau Thorpe would lead the Tornadoes in the 1st half scoring 17 across the half including 9 in the first quarter. The Imperials would be only have one scorer in the first quarter with all their scoring coming from Tristan Schaffner who’d score 15 in the half and all 7 in the first. The Imperials and Tornadoes would be pretty even in the second quarter but the Tornadoes would take a 42-27 lead into the half.

Oakes would control play in the 2nd half as well with Roddek Schmit coming to life in the half scoring 8 points to bring his total to 16 in the game. He would also get into the double digits with rebounds as he would out rebound the Imperials doing the work in the pains. Jyles Meier would also collect 8 points in the half as well to lead Oakes to a 76-45 victory.

The Tornadoes were lead in scoring by Beau Thorpe who had 20 going 8/11 from the field and 1/1 from the line.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Roddek Schmit who recorded his 4th straight double-double.
