JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On behalf of the Anne Carlsen Board of Directors, Anne Carlsen is pleased to announce plans for a leadership transition as part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to its mission and growth. The Board has decided to promote from within, naming Stephanie Nelson, currently the Chief Operating Officer at Anne Carlsen, as the next Chief Executive Officer. She will succeed Tim Eissinger, who in collaboration with the Board, has confirmed his intention to retire in December 2025.
Stephanie joined Anne Carlsen as a Speech Language Pathologist and has demonstrated outstanding dedication throughout her tenure. Over time, she has also held roles in the Ideation and Organizational Development departments. In July 2017, she was promoted by Tim to the role of Chief Operating Officer, where she has displayed her deep commitment to both the organization and the individuals served by Anne Carlsen.
Dr. Polly Peterson, President of the Board of Directors, said, “the Board’s decision to promote from within was an easy one. Stephanie’s proven leadership, understanding of our mission, and her passion for the work we do make her the ideal person to lead Anne Carlsen into the future. She has consistently demonstrated her ability to make impactful decisions and connect with the individuals and teams we serve.”
Stephanie holds a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Arts degree in Leadership from the University of Jamestown, reinforcing her strong qualifications for this new role.
Under Tim Eissinger’s leadership, Anne Carlsen has been involved in many mission related improvement initiatives including regional restructuring; implementing persons served, families and staff engagement survey work and advisory councils; making major positive structural changes to our Foundation and Development/Marketing Team; designing and building a new state of the art facility with the new Ballantyne Berg Campus in Jamestown; and in honoring the legacy of Dr. Anne Carlsen by continuing to promote a servant leadership philosophy that empowers both persons served and staff to be the very best people they can be.
Dr. Peterson also extended the Board’s gratitude to Tim Eissinger, stating, “On behalf of the Board, we sincerely thank Tim for his leadership and unwavering commitment to quality service and care throughout his tenure. His vision and dedication have positioned Anne Carlsen for continued success, and we are grateful for all he has accomplished.”
The Board has approved a transition plan that will begin implementation immediately, leading to Stephanie’s full transition into the CEO role, effective July 1st, 2025. On July 1st, Tim will transition to an advisory role through December 31st, 2025, ensuring completion of a smooth transition.
Anne Carlsen congratulates Stephanie Nelson on her promotion and looks forward to continued growth and success under her leadership.
