The Valley City Police Department is notifying residents about a high-risk sex offender who has moved into Valley City.
Christopher Martin Peters, 34, is now residing at 204 3 rd Ave SE, Apt #8, Valley City, ND. Peters does not have a vehicle at this time. He has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.

Peters was convicted of possession of materials in December of 2020 in Stutsman County District Court. He was also convicted of 8 counts of possession of materials in February of 2020, in Barnes County District Court. In addition, he was convicted of having over 100 images on his phone in 2017 in Barnes County District Court.

Police emphasize that Peters is not currently wanted and has served his court-imposed sentence. The notification aims to ensure public safety and is not intended to incite fear or vigilantism. Residents are warned that harassment, intimidation, or threats against Peters, his family, landlords, or employers will result in prosecution.
