MINOT – Two second-period goals were the difference Friday as Minot rallied to defeat Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Hockey 3-1 at MAYSA Arena, the Jays’ second straight loss.
An efficient power play scored again for Jamestown (2-5-0-0, 1-5-0-0 ND) for the game’s first goal. Ellie Kruger scored her fifth goal of the season and third on the power play at 6:42 of the first period. The Blue Jays have been successful on 26 percent of their power plays so far.
Yvonne Slind evened the game for Minot at 10:28 in the opening period.
Sydnee Bartsch scored the go-ahead goal for the Majelles (4-4-0-1, 4-3-0-1) at 9:24 of the second period. Brynn Hanson gave Minot a two-goal lead with 48 seconds left in the middle frame.
Ady Bakalar stopped 22 of 25 shots in goal for Jamestown.
The Blue Jays will host Mandan on Monday, December 30 at 1:00 PM at Wilson Arena.
