FARGO – For their returning coach, a shorthanded Jamestown Blue Jay Boys Basketball team nearly completed a stunning comeback.

Fargo South had a 25-point first half lead before Jamestown cut the margin to two points Tuesday.  The Bruins held on to defeat the Blue Jays 91-82 at Fargo South High School in Jamestown’s season opener.

It marked the return of Luke Anderson as the Blue Jays’ head coach.  Anderson served in that position from 2014-17 before becoming principal at Gessner Elementary School.

Corbyn Follingstad led Fargo South (2-1) with 28 points.  Mikey Hamilton added 20 and Abakar Mingandouji tallied 15.

Thomas Newman led Jamestown with 40 points.  Caleb Schiele and Madden Skunberg each scored 11.

The Blue Jays will again play in the Fargo area Friday, meeting the West Fargo Packers.
