FARGO – More power from the power play of Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Hockey led to the end of a losing streak.
Grace Allmaras scored her second goal of the game on the power play in the first minute of the third period Tuesday and Jamestown snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Fargo Davies at the Farmers Union Insurance Center.
Layni Bakalar and Ellie Krueger assisted on the fourth goal by Allmaras 41 seconds into the third period. The tally tied Krueger for the team lead. It was the fifth power play goal this season for Jamestown (2-3-0-0, 1-3-0-0 league) in 18 chances.
Sophia Rerick put Davies (2-2-0-0, 1-2-0-0) in front, scoring with 5:09 remaining in the first period.
Allmaras, set up by Stella Belzer, tied the game for the Blue Jays 3:17 into the second period.
Krueger gave Jamestown its first lead only 1:22 later.
Davies returned to even terms with an Ellery Wilcox goal at 12:48 of the second period.
Jamestown was one-of-three on the power play and stopped the only man advantage for Davies in the third period.
Ady Bakalar made 24 saves in net for Jamestown.
