JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Wrestling opened its 2024-25 season Saturday with a fifth-place finish in the Knights of Columbus Invitational at Jerry Meyer Arena.

Kaydence Golding, who was a runner-up at last season’s state tournament, won in the 124-pound weight class.  Golding pinned Isabelle Erickson of Northern Cass in 1:52 in the title match.

Leah Torres finished third for the Blue Jays at 118 pounds and Ashlyn Lee was third at 142.  Heavyweight Hope Miller was fifth.  Grace Bercier was sixth at 190.

Overall, the Blue Jays scored 93 points.

On Thursday, the Blue Jays will host Mandan in a dual at Jerry Meyer Arena.  Coverage will begin at around 5:15 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
