Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Lisbon Broncos have beaten Oakes for the last 10-11 years in wrestling duals and that trend continued last night thanks to a heavyweight pin in the final bout.

The match at 107 started with a 3rd period Technical Fall (16-0) by Oakes’ Trygg Dahlstrom over Micah Froemke.

At 114, Ben Wagner would pick up the pin in the opening minute over Nyus Lyons.

At 121, Jaren Nelson would pick up the 2nd period pin over Cayden Dawson. This gave Oakes a 17-0 lead early.

At 127 Greyson Lyons would pin Loden Skjefte in the opening round making it 17-6.

At 133 Noah Anderson pinned Owen Iverson also in the opening period making it 17-12.

At 139 Mathias Dahlstrom and Cruz Reinke had a good bout resulting in a Dahlstrom 7-3 decision victory making it 20-12.

At 145 Grffin Greenley picked up the 9-3 decision over Zane Awender making it 20-15.

At 152 Ryan Enge picked up a 5-0 decision over Case Awender making it 20-18.

At 160 Zade Heier pinned Amoz Ramerman in the 2nd period to return the 8 point, 26-18, lead.

At 172 Jayce Zimprich held onto a heft lead over Reese Cline late to get the Major Decesion at 13-4 making the dual score 26-22.

At 189 Eli Lyons would give Lisbon their first lead of the dual with a tech fall (17-2) over Levi Thorpe that was almost a pin late in the second period. The score would be 27-26.

At 215 Carter Ptacek took the lead back with an opening period pin over Brock Lyons giving Oakes the 32-27 advantage.

At 285 Aiden Hinkle and JJ Haggood would wrap up in a grapple fest before Hinkle would overpower and pin Haggood in the opening period clinching the 33-32 victory.

The Bank North Wrestler of the match was Carter Ptacek.
