JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) invites the community to its upcoming JRMC U event, “Do I Have a Sinus Infection?”, a free educational session designed to help attendees better understand sinus health. The event will take place on Monday, December 11, at 11 a.m. at the Two Rivers Activity Center.

Led by JRMC Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist Dr. Chet Barton, the session will explore common sinus-related conditions such as rhinitis and sinusitis. Participants will learn how to differentiate these issues from colds and allergies and gain insights into effective treatment and prevention.

Sinus infections, or sinusitis, affect more than 31 million Americans annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Left untreated, they can lead to chronic discomfort and, in some cases, serious complications.

“My goal is to equip you with the tools and knowledge to manage your health effectively,” Dr. Barton said. “This event will offer practical advice and highlight the resources available at JRMC to help individuals feel their best.”

Attendees will also learn about advances in minimally invasive treatments for sinus health. The session will conclude with a Q&A, allowing participants to engage directly with Dr. Barton and the JRMC ENT team.

JRMC U classes are part of the hospital’s commitment to empowering the community with free, accessible health education. Each session aims to provide actionable knowledge to help individuals make informed decisions about their well-being.
