JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) invites the community to gather in remembrance and reflection at its 27th annual Tree of Love celebration, set for Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m. in the JRMC Apple Basket Café. This cherished tradition offers a meaningful way to honor and remember loved ones by dedicating ornaments on a holiday tree.

Each year, approximately 200 heart-shaped glass ornaments, adorned with bows and personalized with the names of loved ones, grace the tree. Participants are encouraged to take their ornaments home after the ceremony as a keepsake to hold their loved ones’ memories close.

“Tree of Love is a cherished tradition for our community,” said Tonya Perkins, JRMC Foundation Director. “It’s a time to honor the ones we hold dear while finding comfort and healing together. We welcome everyone to join us in this act of remembrance.”

This year’s celebration offers a special opportunity to amplify its impact, thanks to a $20,000 matching gift from Farmers Union Insurance. Every donation made in December will be matched, doubling the contributions to support the Tree of Love and JRMC’s capital campaign.

Donors can direct their contributions to priority areas, including purchasing an infant warmer for newborn care, upgrading the Hugs and Kisses pediatric security system, and redesigning the emergency department registration for enhanced security.

“The generosity of our partners and community members means so much,” Perkins said. “With this matching gift, every donation – no matter the size – has twice the power to make a difference. Together, we can honor loved ones and strengthen healthcare for future generations.”

The celebration is free and open to the public. For those unable to attend, ornaments can still be dedicated online or through the JRMC Foundation office. Visit jrmcnd.com/GIVING for more information or to make a donation.
