VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  The Hi-Liner winter sports season will begin tonight with the wrestling team’s debut.

Valley City is on the road tonight for a girls and boys dual at Devils Lake.  The dual will be a conference matchup.

Single duals are a rarity in wrestling in the modern era.  Fargo Davies, Fargo South, and Grand Forks Red River start tonight with what they are calling a “mix and match” tournament in Fargo.

The Hi-Liners will participate in their first triangular of the season Thursday, December 5h, at West Fargo Sheyenne, facing Sheyenne and Fargo North.

Hi-Liner basketball is slated to begin with the Barnes County Girls Tournament December 10th.  The boys will play their first varsity game December 17th, hosting Devils Lake.

Jamestown Blue Jays hockey, which Valley City athletes participate in, will face Hazen-Beulah Saturday.
