ABERDEEN, SD – Ellie Krueger and Grace Allmaras each had a goal and an assist Saturday as the Jamestown Blue Jays opened the girls hockey season with a 5-1 win over Aberdeen Central at Odde Ice Arena.

Stella Belzer scored 5:36 into the first period to open the scoring for Jamestown.  Krueger doubled the Blue Jay lead at 3:52 of the second period.

Later in that period, Allmaras and Layla Becker scored 45 seconds apart.  Allmaras, set up by Krueger, tallied at 13:52 and Becker, assisted by Tylea Sortland gave Jamestown a 4-0 lead at 14:37.

Keller Addyson scored Aberdeen Central’s only goal with 16 seconds left in the middle period.

Anna Lunde scored at 14:02 of the third period for Jamestown’s final goal, assisted by Allamaras and Layni Bakalar.

The Blue Jays had a 34-18 shot advantage.  Avery Graves made 17 saves in goal.
