JAMESTOWN – James Poole and Davis Thompson each scored twice Friday as University of Jamestown ACHA D2 Men’s Hockey won their sixth straight game, 7-4 over Bethel at Wilson Arena.
Evan Streeter scored twice and had two assists for Bethel.
Tanner Freed set up Poole for the game’s first goal at 3:27 of the first period for Jamestown (10-5-1-1). Tyler Ralph scored his ninth at 5:36, assisted by Brooks Roaldson and Kalob Paquin. Thompson made the Jimmie lead 3-0 at 14:37.
Adam Bricker scored for Bethel (7-5-0-1) at 3:17 of the second period. 1:34 later, Thompson scored his 12th for the Jimmies. At 5:36, Poole made the score 5-1 Jamestown with his 14th goal. Streeter scored for the Royals at 11:47 and Delfin Cruz cut the Jamestown lead to 5-3 at 13:46.
Tanner Freed scored his fifth for the Jimmies at 6:40 in the third period, assisted by Poole and Jackson LeBrasseur. Streeter scored for Bethel at 15:16, then Roaldson notched his seventh, assisted by Ralph, for the final tally.
Xavier Baker made 23 saves in the Jamestown goal. UJ outshot Bethel 37-27.
The Jays will again host Bethel Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Wilson Arena.
