Kennedy Jr., a vocal critic of U.S. food systems and federal nutrition scientists, to lead the Department of Health and Human Services and take on the “industrial food complex.” “HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social. While Kennedy’s outspoken criticism of vaccinations has sparked opposition, his ideas on nutrition, pesticides, and other issues have drawn widespread, and sometimes unexpected, appeal. In a post on X on Thursday, Colorado’s Democratic governor Jared Polis wrote he was excited by the news of Kennedy’s nomination. “What I’m most optimistic about is taking on big pharma and the corporate ag oligopoly to improve our health,” according to Polis.
