(ND Ag Connection) – By Scout Nelson

This winter, NDSU Extension’s popular Getting It Right webinars for crop production will be back, covering essential and emerging topics for North Dakota’s agriculture community. The new hosts, Ana Carcedo and Jeff Stachler, will lead the sessions, taking over from the long-time co-chairs. Carcedo and Stachler, both Extension agronomists, will present valuable insights and updates from NDSU Extension.

The upcoming season will focus on six major North Dakota crops, offering in-depth discussions on various crop issues. Familiar faces will return, including specialists Joe Ikley, Jan Knodel, Frayne Olson, Andrew Friskop, and Sam Markell.

New to the team are soils experts Brady Goettl and Chandler Gruener, who will share fresh insights. Participants can also expect business perspectives from David Ripplinger and updates from commodity representatives. In the flax session, breeders Muklesur Rahman from NDSU and Bunyamin Tar’an from the University of Saskatchewan will present their research.

In addition to hosting, Ana Carcedo will guide a tutorial on using the NDSU Variety Tool, available at www.vt.ag.ndsu.edu, which helps producers customize crop searches by location and other criteria.

Supported by organizations like the North Dakota Soybean Council and the Northern Canola Growers Association, these webinars are free to attend. Sessions will be broadcast on Zoom, starting at 8:30 a.m. on designated dates, and will also be recorded for future access.

Pre-registration is required to join the webinars, ensuring participants secure their Zoom invitation and benefit from the series’ informative content.
