LaMoure, ND (NewsDakota.com) – For the first time in three years LaMoure-Litchville-Marion football has advanced to Dakota Bowl at Fargodome thanks to a 52-16 semifinal round victory over Linton/HMB-SZ Saturday, November 9th at Townsend Field in LaMoure.

Both teams came into the contest with perfect 10-0 records and slugged it out over the first 12 minutes and settled for an 8-8 tie after quarter one.

A  couple of Lions turnovers in quarter two turned the tides as the Loboes put up three second quarter touchdowns and never looked back.

Gunner Thielges continued his monster season and phenomenal postseason with six TDs.

The Junior rushed for 314 yards on 18 carries and scored on runs from 4, 5, 5, 48 and 8 yards away and he also hauled in a 55 yard touchdown pass from Sophomore QB Mason Warcken.

Thielges has 2,973 rushing yards on the season and 45 total touchdowns. (40 rushing 5 receiving) Gunnar has 17 postseason TDs and he has rushed for 823 yards in the three playoff victories.

Sophomore Colby Thielges came up with two interceptions, his 4th and 5th of the season, that set up two Loboe second quarter scores.

Senior Brayan Karlgaard also set up a L-L-M TD with his 2nd pick of the season.

Lions Senior QB Gentry Richter had a hand in both of his teams touchdowns as he threw for an 8 yard TD pass and he ran for another from 7 yards out.

The Lions season ends at 10-1 and the 11-0 Loboes will play for the 9-Man championship Friday, November 15th vs undefeated New Rockford/Sheyenne at approximately 1130 AM at Fargodome.

The Rockets advanced to the title tilt with a convincing 64-28 win over Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn.

L-L-M won it all back in 2021 with a 42-14 victory over Cavalier.
