VALLEY CITY – University of Jamestown Cross Country had a second-place finish from the women and fourth for the men Friday in the NSAA Cross Country Championships at the Valley City Town & Country Club.
Jordyn Thorson was the best runner for the Jimmies, in sixth at 24:14.1. Allyson Goodmanson was eighth at 24:21.3. Emma Reeder ran 10th at 24:52.5. 13th was Kirsten Vander Kooi at 25:06.6. Brooke Olson finished 15th at 25:25.2. Jennifer Tallackson was 19th at 25:54.8. Thorson, Goodmanson and Reeder earned all-NSAA honors by finishing in the top 10.
Dakota State’s women won the team title and Madison Nelson of Bellevue was the individual winner.
Cole Campbell and Clark Lortscher were all-NSAA runners for the Jamestown men. Campbell was eighth in 27:07. Lortscher finished 10th in 27:10.8. Landon Thompson ran in 27:12.2 to finish 11th. Drew Hjelmstad (29th) finished at 28:57.8. Samuel Sampers (30th) had a time of 29:10.4. Liam Pospisil was 38th with a time of 30:02.5. Lucas Dahl clocked 30:26.3 to finish 41st. Kadin Marshall was 43rd at 30:50.3.
Both teams will compete in the NAIA National Championships on November 22 in Columbia, Missouri.
