FARGO – Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Basketball was ready for their big test Monday, but North Dakota State was also ready.
NDSU used a 15-2 run late in the first half to pull away and cruised after that to a 96-59 win over Jamestown at Scheels Center.
The game was the season opener for NDSU and was an exhibition for the Jimmies.
Jacari White scored a career-high 22 points to lead the Bison. He led five NDSU players in double-figure scoring. Tajavis Miller scored 12. Masen Miller and Noah Feddersen each had 11. Treyson Anderson tallied 10.
Anthony Walters scored 16 points off the bench to lead the Jimmies on seven-of-14 shooting and two-of-four on three-pointers. Will Cordes scored 10.
As part of the run near the end of the half, White scored a three-pointer, a dunk and another three-pointer in a span of 1:11.
NDSU shot 56 percent from the floor and 13-of-28 on three-pointers. Jamestown made 41 percent of their shots. NDSU had a 42-22 rebounding advantage.
Next for the Jimmies will be two games over this coming weekend in Butte, Montana. Jamestown will meet Montana-Western on Friday.
