ALBERT LEA, MN – They’re number one and at the moment, they aren’t listening to any arguments.
Ray Warrack scored twice in a six-goal second period and Matthew McIntyre and Jordan Baranesky also scored twice each Saturday as the top-ranked Jamestown Jimmies defeated Waldorf 9-1 in ACHA Division 1 Men’s Hockey at Albert Lea City Arena.
Carter Johnson put Jamestown (13-0-0-0) into a 1-0 lead at 12:28 of the first period with his sixth goal of the season.
In the second-period barrage, Brad Fortin scored his 12th on the powerplay at 1:04, Keaton Cline potted his third at 3:20, Baranesky scored with a man advantage at 5:35, Warrack scored at 6:47 and 15:56 for his second and third goals and McIntyre made the UJ lead 7-0 with 1:04 left in the frame.
McIntyre scored again, his fourth, at 2:23 of the third period. Evan Koivunen scored the only goal for Waldorf (4-8-0-0) at 11:20. Baranesky scored his 11th on the powerplay at 13:43.
UJ outshot Waldorf 57-20. Brandon Weare stopped 19 shots.
The Jimmies will next play on Tuesday, November 12 at Minot State.
