DICKINSON – As Head Coach Jon Hegerle put it, his Jamestown Jimmies “got their ‘mojo’ back.”

Jamestown Women’s Volleyball closed NSAA regular season play Thursday with a three-set win over Dickinson State 25-22, 25-17, 25-17 at Scott Gym.

The fourth-ranked Jimmies (20-1, 9-1 NSAA), who took their first loss of the season last Saturday at Bellevue, were down 14-13 in the first set before a Gracie Adamson kill and four DSU errors gave UJ an 18-14 lead.  The Blue Hawks rallied to tie at 21-21 before three kills by Charlotte Lempka and another by Karlie Anderson gave the Jimmies set one.

After the second set was knotted at 5-5, the Jimmies scored four straight and never were caught.  Jamestown hit .343, same as the first set.

Dickinson State (5-20, 1-9) had the third set at 7-7 before Jamestown scored four straight points.  After the Blue Hawks were within 14-10, Adamson and Tymber Boldt had kills and DSU had two errors and Jamestown led 18-10.  Maddie DeMars had a kill in a 4-1 run to end the match.

Lempka led the Jimmies with nine kills.  Anderson hit eight.  Tenley Buddenhagen had 20 set assists and Lily Bertsch had 16.  Ellie Holen had 11 digs and Grace Hegerle scored 10.  UJ had seven total blocks, with Lempka and Anderson each having a solo block and two block assists.

On Senior Night, Jamestown will host Dordt Friday night at Harold Newman Arena, with first serve at 7:00 PM.
