JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department has issued a notification regarding a high-risk sex offender residing in the area.
Kelly Christopher Tanner, 38, lives at 414 4th Ave SW in Jamestown. He is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 180 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Tanner drives a 2002 red Chrysler CRU with North Dakota license plate number 927DTC.
Tanner has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee under the Office of the Attorney General. His criminal history includes two convictions related to sexual offenses.
In July 2008, Tanner was convicted of gross sexual imposition for engaging in sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl when he was 21 years old. He received a sentence of one year, with 355 days suspended, and one year of supervised probation from the Dickey County District Court.
Earlier, in December 2003, Tanner was convicted in Dickey County Juvenile Court of gross sexual imposition for sexual acts involving two girls, ages 10 and 13, and two boys, ages 6 and 8. He was sentenced to one year of custody with the Department of Juvenile Services.
