SIOUX CITY, IA – Gaby Sarkis scored twice Saturday as University of Jamestown Women’s Soccer stormed to a four-goal lead, then defeated Morningside 5-2 at Elwood Olsen Stadium to close the regular season.
Sarkis scored unassisted in the 20th minute for the Jimmies (9-7-0).
Bre Oettle, set up by Sidney Mikes and Vega Canada, scored in the 36th minute and Jamestown led 2-0 at halftime.
Sarkis found Alyssa Caton in the 52nd minute and then scored in the 57th minute, assisted by Mikes, for a 4-0 UJ lead.
Lisann Evert and Ida Carlsson scored in the 78th and 79th minutes for Morningside, but Haley Nelson, assisted by Sarkis and Oettle, scored the match’s last goal in the 87th minute.
Allyson Johnson made four saves in goal.
Jamestown will begin play in the Continental Athletic Conference postseason tournament on Saturday, November 9 in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
