KINDRED- In 2025, they won’t be Class A’s problem anymore.  But for the 2024 playoffs, Kindred sent a message to the state famously uttered by Ric Flair, “To be the man, you gotta beat the man!”

The Vikings scored touchdowns on each of their six first half possessions and extended their winning streak to 22 games with a 48-14 opening round win over the Carrington Cardinals at Jerlow Field on Saturday.

After the Cardinals (6-4) went three and out on their opening drive, RB Kylan Swenson, who overcame a devastating leg injury in 2023, scampered 31 yards to open the scoring.  Swenson finished with 139 yards and two touchdowns.  Carrington again punted and QB Gabe Whipple found Brooks Bakko for a 23 yard TD for a 14-0 lead.  Whipple finished 7-for-8 for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns for Kindred (10-0), who took a 42-0 halftime lead.

The Cardinals got on the board in the third as Josh Bickett found Maddox McIlone for a 43 yard touchdown, McIlone’s first career touchdown.  Bickett then found Tate Wolsky for a 15 yard score.  Ryder Bickett had a school record 61 yard punt in the game.
