Linton, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornados wrapped up their regular season with probably the hardest schedule in the state, finishing against the #1 team in North Dakota the Linton-HMB Lions. They fell to the Lions in straight sets 25-15, 25-8, 25-19.

The match started off with a bit of back and forth play with Linton having a slight advantage until 10-8 when the Lions went on a 10-1 run to make it 20-9. The teams would then trade points and serves back and forth till the set ended 25-15.

Set 2 was Lion domination as they started with a 7-0 lead and made it 11-2 before long. Oakes would get a couple more back to make it 11-4 but the Lions would not be stopped as they ran to a 20-5 lead before long. The final for Set 2 was 25-8.

Set 3 was a lot closer as Oakes would trail for most of the set but battle back from a 7 point deficit at 16-9 to make it 16-15. The Lions would again pull away though as they would end up going on a 9-4 run to finish the match winning 25-19.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Brianna Schmitz.
