JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Private nonprofit organizations in Stutsman County affected by the severe winter storm and straight-line winds from Dec. 25-27, 2023, have until Nov. 15 to apply for federal disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). These loans are designed to provide financial relief for economic hardships caused by the storm.
A media release states that eligible private nonprofits in Stutsman County, particularly those providing essential services of a governmental nature, can apply for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) of up to $2 million. These loans can be used to cover working capital needs such as paying fixed debts, payroll, and other operational expenses that were impacted by the disaster.
The low-interest loans, with an interest rate of 3.25% and repayment terms up to 30 years, are available to organizations in Barnes, Cass, Dickey, Grant, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Steele, Stutsman, and Traill counties. Loan amounts and terms will depend on each applicant’s financial situation.
“Economic injury assistance is available regardless of whether the private nonprofit suffered any property damage,” said Francisco Sánchez Jr., associate administrator for the SBA’s Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience.
Nonprofits in Stutsman County can apply online at SBA.gov/disaster or contact the SBA Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 for additional assistance.
