JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Gladys Krenz, a Direct Support Professional and Team Lead at Triumph Inc., has been recognized with the prestigious American Red Cross Lifesaving Award for Professional Responders.

On April 17, 2024, Krenz was the first to respond when a man in the facility’s lobby began choking while eating. Trained in American Red Cross Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED, she administered abdominal thrusts, dislodging the object and allowing the man to breathe again. Her quick actions, a media release states, were instrumental in saving the man’s life.

The Lifesaving Award is the highest honor given by the American Red Cross to individuals who use skills learned through its training services to save or sustain a life. The certificate for Krenz’s award bears the signatures of the President and CEO, as well as the chairman of the American Red Cross.
