Kindred, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornados wrapped up their regular season against the best team in the state in the Kindred Vikings who are now on a 21 game winning streak after winning Friday night by a final score of 36-0.
The game started with Oakes unable to get their offense going as the Vikings forced a 3-and-out. The Vikings would then quickly march down the field and find the end zone off of a 2 yard run from Myles Thielges to make it 7-0. On the following drive Oakes would once again go 3-and-out to give the Vikings good field position. Chris Titus would not let that stand and pick off Kindred quarterback Gabe Whipple. The Tornados would use that spark to get a drive going however they drive would eventually stall out giving Kindred the ball back. They would quickly go down the field and find get back into the end zone with a 6 yard pass from Whipple to Brooks Bakko to make it 14-0 to end the quarter.
Oakes would hold the Vikings from getting back on the scoreboard for most of the 2nd quarter but they couldn’t hold them off forever as the Vikings eventually got back to the goal line and Whipple would sneak his way from 1 yard out for a touchdown with 2:17 left. Kindred would also get the ball back quickly and score again with Whipple finding Bakko from 25 yards out for another touchdown as Bakko brought down a 1 handed grab to score. The score at the half would be 28-0.
There would be no scoring in the 3rd quarter and no scoring until the final minute in the 4th quarter where Kindred would score again off of a 6 yard pass with both teams’ JV players on the field to make the final score 36-0.
