MILNOR, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A three-vehicle crash on Highway 13, seven miles east of Milnor, left two drivers with serious injuries on the evening of October 20, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at 7:55 p.m. when a 2020 Nissan Altima, driven by a 39-year-old man from Fargo, veered into the eastbound lane while attempting to pass another vehicle traveling westbound. The Nissan sideswiped a 2016 Toyota Avalon, driven by a 23-year-old woman from Fargo, before colliding with a 2018 GMC Terrain driven by a 28-year-old woman from Milnor. The collision resulted in a T-bone impact with the Nissan, which then caught fire. Passersby pulled the Nissan’s driver from the vehicle.

The driver of the Nissan sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lisbon Hospital before being airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. The GMC driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while her 1-year-old passenger was unharmed. The Toyota driver was uninjured.

Multiple agencies, including the North Dakota Highway Patrol, local sheriff’s offices, and emergency medical services from Lisbon, Milnor, Wyndmere, and Forman, responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
