GRANDIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A head-on collision early Monday morning left one man dead following a crash on Traill County Road 81, approximately one mile north of Grandin, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Shortly after 4 am.  a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 40-year-old man from Rio Grande City, Texas, was traveling northbound when it crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound 2021 Chevrolet 2500 Silverado pulling a trailer. The driver of the Impala sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Silverado, identified as 49-year-old Adrian Paul of Kindred, N.D., sustained minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and no charges have been filed, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash prompted a response from multiple agencies, including the Grandin Fire Department, Grandin Ambulance Service, Traill County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The incident remains under investigation.
