JAMESTOWN – University of Jamestown ACHA Women’s Hockey led 3-0 early in the second period Sunday and wasn’t headed in a 4-2 win over Minnesota at Wilson Arena to complete a weekend sweep.

Jamestown (3-2-1-1) was ahead after only 28 seconds when Sam Beaulac set up the third goal of the season for Riley Gee.

Morgan Celley’s first Jimmie goal at 2:42 of the first made the score 2-0 Jamestown and was assisted by Promise Belanger and Ashton Lee.

Gabriella Schroeder scored just a minute into the third period with helpers by Mackenzie Couling and Bethany Wielgosh for a 3-0 Jimmie lead.

Tori Olin scored for Minnesota (0-4-0-0) with 2:38 remaining in the second.

Maddison Andrew tallied her second, assisted by Alivia Tilbury, to give Jamestown a 4-1 lead one second short of halfway through the third period.

Kailee Hoff scored for the Gophers with 1:47 remaining.

Lilah Drew stopped 26 of 28 Minnesota shots.  The Jimmies had a 37-28 advantage in shots on goal.

On Friday, the Jimmies will play McKendree University in O’Fallon, Illinois.
