JAMESTOWN – To open Alumni Weekend, the current Jamestown Jimmies must certainly have made alums proud.

Jamestown, ranked second in NAIA Women’s Volleyball, stayed undefeated Friday with another three-set win over Mayville State 25-18, 25-13, 25-8 at Harold Newman Arena.

Though one late run by Mayville State made the first set relatively close, Jamestown (17-0, 6-0 NSAA) still had 12 kills.

In the second set, Jamestown had runs of eight straight and seven straight points and had 14 more kills while hitting .433.

Mayville State (8-15, 1-6) was down only 9-7 in the third set before the Jimmies scored 16 of the last 17 points to complete their 14th straight sweep.  Jamestown has now won 45 sets in a row.

Aleah Zieske led Jamestown’s attack with nine kills, with Lexi Olson having seven and Gracie Adamson hitting six.

Tenley Buddenhagen had 16 assists and four digs.  Lily Bertsch had 14 assists and four digs.

Ellie Holen had 13 digs and four aces.  Charlotte Lempka had five total blocks.

Jamestown will host rival Valley City State on Saturday at Harold Newman Arena.  Coverage will begin on Saturday at around 12:45 PM on The Voice of the Jimmies, Jamestown 107.1.
