BOTTINEAU- Emerson Marum accounted for 299 yards and four passing touchdown as the Bottineau Braves clinched the 3-seed in Region II with a 35-28 win over the Carrington Cardinals on Friday night at Les Christian Field in Bottineau.

The game started well for Carrington (6-3, 4-3) as they got a nine yard Josh Bickett touchdown run and after Tate Wolsky ran in the conversion it was 8-0 Cardinals.  But Bottineau (6-3, 4-3) responded as Marum found Landon Solberg to cut the lead to 8-7.  After Ryder Bickett exploded for a 66 yard touchdown run, Bottineau scored two straight touchdowns for a 21-15 halftime lead.

The second half was more offense as Marum and Solberg connected again for a 28-15 lead.  But the Cardinals came back with a five yard run by Josh Bickett to make it 28-22.  After one more Braves touchdown, Bickett found McKade Zink for a 36 yard touchdown to make it 35-28 but got no closer.

Carrington will travel to Kindred to face the Vikings in the opening round of the NDHSAA Class A playoffs on Saturday, October 26th at a time TBA.  The game will be heard on KDAK The Cardinal.
