VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Waylan Starr received the “One Smart Cookie Award” by the Valley City Public School District. Starr a VCHS Social Studies Teacher, was selected for this award by his colleagues on the VCPS Culture Committee.

Starr is known for his sense of humor, knowledge of history, role playing historical figures or events in his classroom, and building positive relationships with students. This award is sponsored by Wild Prairie Bakery in Valley City.

Superintendent Josh Johnson said thanks to everyone who submitted nominations for this award. He said we received more than 30 nominations and will award our next recipient in January 2025.
