BISMARCK – Two powerplay goals helped along a three-goal first period for University of Jamestown ACHA Division 1 Men’s Hockey Saturday and the Jimmies defeated the University of Mary 4-2 at the Starion Sports Complex.
Brad Fortin started the scoring for the sixth-ranked Jimmies (8-0), scoring at 4:15 of the first period.
Darius Makse scored the first of the powerplay goals, his sixth, at 10:31. Jordan Baranesky scored his sixth with the man advantage at 14:29 and UJ led 3-0 after 20 minutes.
Ray Warrack’s first goal at 4:06 of the second period made the Jamestown lead 4-0.
Michael Heitkemp and Jacob Murray scored in the third period for the Marauders.
Brandon Weare made 31 saves in the Jamestown net.
UJ will host Ohio University Thursday at 7:00 PM at Wilson Arena.
