MINOT – Paige Kozak scored the game’s first two goals and Minot State controlled thereafter in a 5-1 win over the University of Jamestown Friday in ACHA Women’s Hockey at Maysa Arena.
Kozak scored in the first and second periods for Minot State (3-2-0-0) before Kiran Vugteveen scored her third goal at 11:30 of the third period for what turned out to be the game’s only goal for the Jimmies (1-2-1-0).
Makenna Beard scored three and a half minutes later for the Beavers, who then had third period powerplay goals by Krissy Rink and Abby Tallman.
Lilah Drew made 40 saves in the Jamestown net.
The Jimmies will again play at Minot State Saturday at 3:45 PM.
