GRAND FORKS – The ultimate goal wasn’t met, but Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Soccer has still made 2024 its best season ever.

Jamestown defeated Minot 3-1 Saturday in the third place match of the NDHSAA Boys State Soccer Championship at Cushman Field.

Jackson Steele scored just before halftime and Jamestown (18-1-0) led 1-0 at the break.

In the first three minutes of the second half, the Blue Jays seized control of the match.  Iddi Ramadhani, set up by Steele, scored in the 41st minute.  Miles Anderson then made the Jamestown lead 3-0 in the 43rd minute.

Kyle Eklund scored the only goal for Minot (11-6-2) in the 70th minute.

The Blue Jays’ Grant Lunde had another good game in net with 10 saves.

Jamestown Head Coach Brandi Harty was named as Coach of the Year by the North Dakota High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Ramadhani and Brady Harty from the Blue Jays were named to the All-Tournament Team.
