BILLINGS, MT – They are at times being tested, but University of Jamestown Women’s Volleyball keeps coming through.

The second-ranked Jimmies recorded their 13th straight match sweep Friday and improved to 16-0, defeating 19th-ranked Montana Western 25-23, 25-12, 25-22 at the Fortin Education Center at Rocky Mountain College.

Montana Western led 20-17 in the first set before Gracie Adamson and Charlee Krieg hit kills and Lily Bertsch served an ace for a 20-20 tie.  Krieg and Lexi Olson split a block, then an attack error by the Bulldogs gave the Jimmies a 22-20 lead.  Olson had kills to gave UJ 23-21 and 24-22 leads before a kill by Charlotte Lempka closed the first set.

Jamestown led 14-18, then 19-10, then 20-11 in a second set where they had 14 kills and hit .393.

In the third set, Jamestown was down 8-7 before going on a 7-1 run.  After trailing by as much as seven, Montana Western was within 23-22 before a kill by Aleah Zieske gave the Jimmies match point.  Lempka and Zieske then combined on a block to close out the match win.

Zieske had 13 kills, followed by Krieg with nine and Adamson with eight.  Bertsch had 23 assists, with 20 from Tenley Buddenhagen.  Ellie Holen had 23 digs.  Lempka had five total blocks.  Lexi Olson and Karlie Anderson had four block assists.

UJ will return to NSAA play Friday, hosting Mayville State at Harold Newman Arena.  Coverage on Friday will begin at around 6:45 PM on The Voice of the Jimmies, Jamestown 107.1.
