JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 15-year-old bicyclist was injured after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Jamestown, authorities said.

Jamestown police and ambulance services responded to a 911 call at 7:22 a.m. on the 100 block of Business Loop West. Upon arrival, officers found the juvenile conscious and coherent. The teen received initial medical aid on-site and was then transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a preliminary investigation, the bicyclist had been riding eastbound in the outside westbound lane when a 2014 GMC SUV, driven by 66-year-old Kevin Hollaar of Jamestown, struck the rider. Hollaar told police it was twilight then, and he did not see the bicyclist until just before the collision. The impact threw the teen from the bicycle onto the nearby boulevard.

No charges have been filed, and the incident remains under investigation.
