DES LACS, BURLINGTON- Carrington volleyball took part in the prestigious Laker Invite, hosted by Des Lacs Burlington High School over the weekend and advanced to the silver bracket as part of a five match weekend.
Carrington and Des Lacs Burlington drew 1-1 (20-25, 25-23)
Isabel Wendel came close to a triple-double (twelve digs, nine kills, eight assists), Kenadie Pazdernik and Harper Kollman combined for 29 digs and the Cardinals and Lakers played to a time-limit draw.
Carrington def. New Rockford-Sheyenne 2-0 (25-21, 25-19)
Senior Kenadie Pazdernik reached 1,000 career digs as the Cardinals picked up their second win of the season over the Rockets. She had 22 digs while Kollman and Wendel each had six kills.
Central Cass def. Carrington 2-0 (17-25, 22-25)
Pazdernik added another 20 digs and Wendel had nine kills while Brynn Smith had nine assists and Edyn Hornaert had a pair of service aces in the loss.
Carrington and Hillsboro/Central Valley drew 1-1 (25-21, 24-26)
Kaydence VanRay racked up seven blocks as the Cardinals and Burros played to a time-limit draw. Wendel had twelve digs while Pazdernik added ten of her own.
Silver Bracket: Our Redeemer’s def. Carrington 2-0 (20-25, 19-25)
Wendel again came close to a triple-double (nine digs, nine kills, and eight assists) as Carrington’s tournament came to a close. Pazdernik added twelve more digs in the loss.
