JAMESTOWN – Brad Fortin and Kole Christensson each scored a goal and an assist on Friday as University of Jamestown ACHA Division 1 Men’s Hockey stayed undefeated and won its home opener with a 4-2 win over Waldorf at Wilson Arena.
Mackenzie Bolger scored for Waldorf (2-4-0) 6:03 into the first period, but Zane McDonald tied the game for the Jimmies only 18 seconds later.
Christensson scored shorthanded 1:04 after that and Jamestown (5-0-0) led 2-1 after 20 minutes.
Kaelan Shelton scored a powerplay goal with just under six minutes left in the second period for the Jimmies, but Evan Koivunen scored for Waldorf with 27 seconds to play and UJ’s lead was 3-2 after two periods.
Fortin’s fourth goal of the year 2:21 into the third provided the final margin.
Brandon Weare made 25 saves in net for the Jimmies, who outshot the Warriors 31-27.
The teams will play again Saturday at 3:30 PM at Wilson Arena.
