JAMESTOWN – Strong hitting by Triston Madison and Chase Burke plus solid pitching led University of Jamestown Baseball to a doubleheader sweep of Dickinson State 4-2 and 8-2 Friday at Jack Brown Stadium.

Madison homered, doubled and drove in seven for the day.  Burke went 5-for-7 in the leadoff spot.  Winning starting pitchers Luke Zimmer and Ryan Radkey combined for 12 strikeouts.

Game 1: Jamestown 4, Dickinson State 2
Madison socked a two-run first-inning home run for the Jimmies (4-1).
Dickinson State (0-3) scored in their third, but Jamestown answered that in the home half with a sacrifice fly.
Ryan Muizelaar hit a solo homer in the fourth for the Jimmies’ final run.
Zimmer (1-1) struck out seven in five and two-thirds innings. Despite allowing a seventh-inning home run to DSU’s Jace Buchanan, Ryan Wike earned his first save.

Game 2: Jamestown 8, Dickinson State 2
Dickinson State scored two in the top of the first before Jamestown (5-1) scored two in their half of the opening inning. Alex Alva tripled in one run and Madison singled in the other.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the second, Madison cleared the bases with a three-run double. Jordan Singleton capped the five-run inning with a two-run homer and added a solo home run in the fifth.
Radkey (2-0) gave up two runs and six hits while striking out five in four and a third innings.

Jamestown will play their final two fall games Friday in a doubleheader at Dickinson State.
