JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – SMP Health – Ave Maria has received a $1,125 grant from the Jamestown Community Foundation to support its wheelchair replacement and parts project, a media release states.

The funds will help the facility’s therapy department update essential equipment, including wheelchairs, foot pedals, seats, and air cushions. These updates are vital for ensuring both resident safety and improved efficiency for the staff. According to the release, wheelchairs typically have a lifespan of about 10 years when used continuously.

SMP Health – Ave Maria serves not only the Jamestown community but also surrounding counties. The facility provides therapy for its long-term residents and post-operative care for temporary patients.
