CARRINGTON- Harper Kollman had four of Carrington’s eleven aces on the night in a dominant display as the Cardinals picked up their first District V win with a sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-18) of the defending regional champion LaMoure-LM Loboes on Tuesday night at Cardinal Gymnasium.
Carrington fell behind by two in the first set to the Loboes (11-6, 2-1) before a diving dig by Kenadie Pazdernik, one of a season-high 25 digs for the senior, switched the momentum as Carrington (5-4, 1-1) would not trail again in the set. On the night, Carrington had 78 digs, a season-best mark.
Isabel Wendel (17) and Brynn Smith (16) combined for 33 assists and Wendel added ten kills and three blocks in the win. Edyn Hornaert had six kills, four digs, and three blocks as well. Four players had at least six kills in the match.
The Cardinals return to District V play at home Tuesday against Ellendale. Coverage on KDAK The Cardinal will begin at approximately 7:00 PM.
