JAMESTOWN – Jordan Baranesky scored twice Saturday as Jamestown ACHA Division 1 Men’s Hockey completed an opening-weekend sweep with a 5-0 win over Midland at Wilson Arena.
Alex Erichuk had three assists, Keaton Cline set up two and Brandon Weare earned the 24-save shutout.
Baranesky scored at 12:05 of the first period before UJ put the game away with three goals in the second period. Kole Christensson’s second goal in as many nights at 5:19 of the second was followed by a Brenden Vulcano powerplay goal at 8:59 and a tally by Brayden Michalchuk at 13:33.
Baranesky scored again at 2:04 of the third period for Jamestown (2-0).
The Jimmies will play Iowa State Friday and Saturday in Ames, Iowa.
