VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) Morgan Freije is having quite a run for Viking volleyball in September.
After leading the Vikings in kills in a 3-2 win over #15 Morningside Friday, the junior from Edmore, ND again led the Vikings Wednesday night, tallying 11 kills in a 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-23) sweep of Dickinson State.
Freije led the Vikings in kills against Concordia, MN last Tuesday before landing 14 against Morningside Friday. Her 11 kills Wednesday marked the third straight match in which she has led the Viking offense.
Danielle Hagler and Maci Fridgen each had nine kills for the Vikings, and Hagler, a junior from Cando, ND, time and again changed the course of play with her blocking ability, recording four blocks against the Bluehawks.
The Vikings improve their overall record to 9-4, and are now 1-0 in North Star Athletic Association play. They face the University of Jamestown, ranked third nationally, Thursday night at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
