Douglas “Bud” George Clemo, 77, Valley City, Norh Dakota passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. A celebration of life will be held at Stump Lake, 63 Pavilion Road, Pekin, ND, Saturday, September 28 at 6 pm.

Douglas “Bud” George Clemo was born September 30, 1946, in Cando, North Dakota to George and Esther (Johnson) Clemo. He attended school and played high school baseball in McVille, North Dakota. Following his graduation in 1965 he worked in McVille’s Red Owl Grocery store before moving to Belcourt, North Dakota and working in the grocery store there. He married Loretta in Belcourt, and they made their home in Valley City.

Valley City is where Bud chose to call home for the rest of his life. He worked for Fleet Wholesale for many years. On June 1, 1995, he married Lisbeth Schudar. He worked as a maintenance worker for the Sheyenne Care Center for several years until his retirement. Bud decided to go back to work part-time for Ace Hardware for a few years. He never met a stranger. Lisbeth passed away July 2020.

Bud is survived by his daughters Miranda (Robert) Smith, Houma, LA and Katlyn (Devon) Stephens, Valley City; grandchildren Connor and Ethan Smith; a brother Jeff (Deb) Steinke, Grand Forks, ND; two sisters Virginia Steinke, Tolna, ND and Nadine (Ron) Hanson, Devils Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lisbeth, sisters Barbara and Mary, and brother Robert.
