roundup

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – At this year’s annual District 24 Dem-NPL Roundup, celebrating is the theme. The festivities will begin with a catered meal on Friday, September 27th at the Dacotah Pavilion in Chautauqua Park, Valley City. Doors open at 4:30 pm with dinner served at 5:30 pm followed by a live auction at 6:45 pm. A silent auction will proceed through the evening.

North Dakota Sen. Kathy Hogan (District 21, Fargo) will be the guest speaker. She is the Minority Leader in the ND Senate. She has served in the ND Legislature since 2009 and has been a tireless worker for human rights over these years. During the evening attendees will have a chance to mingle and visit with their District 24 candidate for the ND Senate, Knut “Pete” Gjovik, and the two ND House candidates Nancy Farnham and Shawn Olauson. This will be a time to share ideas with candidates on how to make North Dakota an even better state.

The live auction will follow dinner and indeed be lively, with a wide variety of items being offered. For starters, Mike and Peg Ferrel have donated both a one-week winter vacation at Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, AZ and a one-week vacation at Grand Pacific Palisades Resort in Carlsbad, CA. In addition, a brilliant mezzotint by our local, yet internationally acclaimed
artist Linda Whitney will make the live auction truly special. Her art is a beautiful celebration of Powwow dancers’ artistic styles.

Darlene and Phil Mueller aim to please and they’ll be bringing many packages of their mouthwatering homemade lefse. And Mary Ann Winkler of homemade bun fame will offer numerous packages of her delights to the highest bidder. “And that’s only a start,” states District 24 Chair, Brad Edin, who has hinted that he may be offering a tried-and-true traditional recipe of delicious flatbread.

The Fall Roundup event is open to the public. Please call/text ahead for tickets: Vicki Voldal Rosenau at 490-4883. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
