JAMESTOWN – University of Jamestown Football Offensive Coordinator Jason Challeen has been let go by Head Coach Brian Mistro.
Challeen, who had been the offensive coordinator since 2015, had previously been on the UJ coaching staff from 2007-09.
With an 0-3 start, the Jimmies’ offense has struggled so far this season. The team has only two offensive touchdowns, one rushing and one passing. UJ quarterbacks have thrown six interceptions, three of which have been returned for touchdowns. There has been another defensive touchdown by a Jimmie opponent on a fumble return, this past Saturday in a 16-6 loss at Dakota State.
Jamestown’s offense has averaged just over 229 yards per game in the season’s first three games.
Mistro has indicated that he will call offensive plays for the rest of the season, starting with this Saturday’s home opener against Mayville State at Rollie Greeno Field at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
